Born Joseph Antonio Cartagena on August 19, 1970, in the South Bronx, New York City, Fat Joe grew up in a vibrant and challenging environment. Raised in a Puerto Rican family, he experienced the harsh realities of inner-city life from a young age. Despite the adversity, music became his refuge and passion.
